Maori Language Week

Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori

The children participated in a
variety of activities for Maori
 Language Week.

We talked about "Why Maori Language was Important?"

We read the legend "The House of the People" and learnt how the Maori found the patterns from nature to decorate their meeting houses.

The children enjoyed reading legends, playing finger games and using the poi and rakau sticks.

The children learnt several new waiata and shared one of them at Assembly.
