In LT2 we are learning about writing to persuade. As part of this learning, we are reading many persuasive texts. This week, we are reading 'The Zoo Debate' but Philippa Werry.
Read this article. You choose whether it is out loud with a buddy, or quietly to yourself.

Decide what you think about zoos. Plan your argument for or against zoos on the graphic organiser. When you have conferenced your plan with a teacher, you may start writing your draft.

2. Fun,educational,caged,wild,interesting.
3. For others entertainment,learn about wildlife,see animals that are hard to find,learn about animals actions and reactions to things.
4.In zoos the animals don't get to be free,they could feel uncomfortable where they are,they could harm others,people could tease the animals,animals could get sick without the zookeepers knowing.
I enjoy zoos but I think the animals should be tamed to be in a zoo not trapped in cages.

4.Zoos can smell very bad that may disturb your health animals are caged an cant be free you can also get attacked in the dangerous environment.
Lastly I aprove of zoos they are fun places.

Reasons why Zoo's are helpful:
Teach people about animals environment,
Give us information on how to protect wild animals,
Teach us to respect animals no matter what,
Help save endangered animals and
Allow people to see animals in a way they can't see it anywhere else
Reasons Zoo's are bad:
Don't have the right to be free,
Get lonely,
Only keep big animals to entertain people not look after them,
You could just watch it on TV or Documents and
It cost a lot of money to look after the animals
I think we should have Zoo's because without them kids wouldn't be able to see animals in their "wild" life
